Gaff Cutter 30ft 6ins LOD, lines similar to that of a King’s Lynn Shrimper, commissioned as a Gentleman’s yacht. It’s not known if she ever worked or was just built using the same lines as the working vessels. She was Part one registered. In her lifetime she has carried various rigs. Her present owner of 15 years has had her totally restored: this has included a new Gaff rig, spars, wires and sails (made by James Lawrence of Brightlingsea). All the restoration work was carried out at Harry King’s Boatyard in Pin Mill. She has a Perkins diesel inboard engine. Photographic and paper proof of all the time and money spent ( Runs into a fortune.)
Presently ashore with her rig on and up, she has a swinging mooring on the river Orwell for the season. Construction of Pitch pine carvel planking on Oak frames. She has laid decks which were totally renewed during her restoration. Deck Construction: Pine over 3/4″ marine ply.

She carries a 7ft bowsprit with two fore sails, a top mast, so she can fly a top sail with a crescent moon emblem on it. She has a 4 ton lead ballast long keel, a deep well open aft cockpit and a counter stern. Tiller steering. Accommodation for 4/5 in 2 cabins. Headroom over galley and the saloon.
