42' Admiral'S Barge
"CAJUN" is a 1965 U.S. Navy surplus "Admirals' Barge (or Gig). She is slow, stable, and heavy (22,000 lbs.).
Usually kept on deck of an aircraft carrier, she was used for the Admiral and senior officers transport. Purchased from the government in 1999 totally stripped, she had twin diesel (4-236 Perkins ~ 85 hp) engines installed, new reduction gears (transmissions), electronics, hydraulic steering, autopilot, all electrics, fuel tanks, windshield, overhead, DC and AC electrical systems, etc. Fuel consumption is always under 20 gallons/day of diesel (~ 2.25 gph @ 1700 rpm). Cosmetically, she is still a work in progress.

2 Radars (24 mile & 64 mile), 2 Marine VHF Radios, Auto Pilot ( to be reinstalled), GPS Chart Plotter, Fish-finder/Depth sounder, 2 Diesel Engines - Perkins 4-236 (approx.4800 on hour-meters), Trolling and bottom fishing rods, reels, and tackle, 12Ft. Inflatable Boat, Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon (EPIRB), Flake Ice Machine (450 lbs./day capacity) Hot/Cold Running Water, 115 Volt AC Power, Shower, Toilet, and Washing Machine, Microwave and Toaster Oven, 2 Freezers (Bait & Food), Refrigerator, 5 Fuel tanks (approx. 1000 mile range), 3 emergency pumps
