    Beneteau - 57

As the song says ‘… going where the weather suits my clothes’. The perfect escape tool, his Beneteau 57 has already circumnavigated the globe over an extended seven-year cruise by the current owners. She has been treated well, never pressed hard for weeks on end trying to meet a deadline. She is a credit to the owners who have updated and maintained this yacht during their travels. Fully spec’d for the next adventure, the detailed sales listing speaks for itself.

If you are considering a ‘cast off’ adventure, a holiday yacht in another part of the world, or a family sailing yacht for more local sailing, then this could be the vessel for you.

Solar capacity is adequate to be self-sufficient most of the time and batteries are fully charged to float condition almost every day. Prior to fitting panels, generator run time was 2-3 hrs per day. Now it averages 20 mins per day, based on occasional generating for non-essential items such as hot water, microwave cooking and washing.

Batteries - House bank (24V) is 4 x 200Ah Trojan (Nov 2015) wet batteries plus switchable 80Ah auxiliary low maintenance batteries. As well as backup, this allows the main bank to be taken off line or equalised while maintaining power.

Battery condition monitoring via two Victron BMV 602 monitors on both 24V and 12V systems.

The 12V instruments can be powered from a dedicated 12V battery, however the default is to power the 12V system from a 24/12V DC/DC converter from the 24V house batteries. This means all are charged from the solar panels.
