REDUCED FOR QUICK SALE: Designed in the early 1980s by Beneteau's Jean-Marie Finot, these craft immediately became a popular 'family cruiser'. A well balanced craft in both accommodation and size of rig. An interesting feature is the draft of this vessel at 1.3m as she is one of a few where shallow fin keels were fitted rather than the norm. This gives a depth below the waterline of 1.3m (4' 3). This 1984 built yacht has been ashore since October 2011 albeit the owner still maintains the craft. An example is the current replacement of head lining in the aft cabin being undertaken.
The following navigation units are fitted and understood to be in working order:

    - FURUNO GP37 fixed GPS (2004)

    - SIMRAD RD68 VHF/DSC radio with Cockpit loudspeakers (2001)

    - AUTOHELM 600 Self-steering unit

    - NASA Clipper Echo-sounder & Clipper log

    - PLASTIMO - Magnetic steering compass & hand-bearing compass

    - WINDEX wind direction indicator
The vessel has 12v DC wiring provided by 2 x 12v batteries: 1x cranking battery 65 65 A/hr capacity: 1 x service battery 80 A/hr The batteries have been removed and currently stored ashore, fully charged. (see Mechanical re charging from engine alternator, when afloat ).

YANMAR 2GM20 two-cylinder 18hp diesel engine with integral gear-box. Cockpit located controls for fwd-neutral-astern. An 'engine-driven' alternator is fitted providing a 12v charging facility. With conventional shaft, the maximum speed is +/- 6 knots with a 4-5 knot cruising speed. Consumption approx. 2-3 ltrs/hour. The unit has been serviced by the owner with spares (value +/- £200) and both makers and owner's handbooks. Engine hours not recorded. Tank capacities: Diesel: 24 ltrs. in stainless steel tank. Fresh water: 20ltrs. in PVC tank. Good access for servicing by removing steps from Cockpit & with majority of engine service points directly available - or via removable panel in aft cabin.
The vessel includes the following safety items:

    - 2 x manual bilge pumps (fixed) + 1 x mobile

    - 3 x hand-held fire extinguishers (date expired)

    - 1 x Fire blanket

    - 2 x life-bouys (polystyrene)

    - 4-man Liferaft (new July 1997)

    - 2 x Bosuns' chairs

    - Searchlight & Siren(gas operated)

    - Danbouy with light. -

    - Radar reflector

    - 2 x Life-jackets with gas inflation system

    - Arima Liferaft (4-man) Valise type (last serviced 2009)

    Sails and Rig
The vessel has a masthead rig with an alloy mast and boom with stainless steel standing rigging. The 'sail wardrobe' includes:

1 x Mainsail+ cover by Crusader (new 2000) slab reefing & short batterns.

1 x Full-size Genoa with roller furling (in need of some attention)

    1 x Spinnaker halyard & telescopic pole.

    1 x smaller Genoa (2008 - used only for 2 seasons) & Storm Jib

...all sails currently removed and stored ashore. Control lines brought to foot of mast and guided by low-profile turning blocks to clamps etc. on coachroof close to accommodation entry, with similar winches on Cockpit coamings (P & S) and adjacent cleats. New halyards (2011) for Main and Foresail (2011) 'Guides' for raising/ lowering sail(s) lines come aft tp winches or direct 'cleating' off where available.

    From Aft:

The Cockpit provides integral benches to Port & Stbd, with the rudder stock and tiller located right aft , controlling the 'spade rudder' by use of a generous tiller bar and extension. Ahead, over the forward section of the Cockpit, is the sliding hatch and steps leading down to the Main Cabin, over the engine enclosure . To Port is the Galley with 2-ring gas hob, grill and oven. Sink and drainer at 90deg, with supporting furniture - including a retractable food compartment and a cool-box - providing a very practical location when underway for the 'Galley Slave!' Aft of the Galley space is the access to the double berth aft with stowage under and a hanging space adjacent.

Returning to the Galley, to Stbd is the enclosed Heads compartment with toilet (sea water flushed) and hand-basin with cold water supply. Ahead is the navigator's table and seat (facing forward). Between the Galley and navigator's seat is the opening to the main part with a table -on the centre line with drop-down sides - upholstered seating set to each side, offering two single berths and stowage beneath. With the folding table sections lowered, access is made to the Fore-cabin which comprises a further double berth. A hatch above provides ventilation, as well as an emergency escape to the Foredeck. The accommodation has a 'average head-height' of 6ft/1.8m. Transparent, tinted windows re fitted to both Port and Stbd mid-way along the length of the accommodation.
Alloy 'slotted' toe-rail at deck/hull joint, supporting stainless steel stanchions with s/s wire, from stem to stern quarters.

Fairleads and cleats fitted for mooring lines. Hand-rails to coachroof, running from position of mast to Cockpit. Sprayhood and matching named dodgers to Cockpit.

Mooring warps & fenders. 1 x Danforth anchor & 1 x Plough anchor, fitted with warp and chain (? length)

The inventory also includes spare lines/ropes, 2 x tarpaulins, beaching legs (alloy with collapsible ability) and a steel cradle for winter storage.
    Owner Comments
' I have records of all previous owners since 2001 - including the fact of winning club racing and trophies won. Personally, I have had no major accidents or insurance claims - nor need for replacement of equipment - save sails and halyards, etc. During ashore 2006/7, the under-water areas were chemically stripped back to the original gel-coat and a priming of two-part epoxy applied before anti-fouling.

All regular maintenance and small improvements personally carried out or under my supervision.' The top-sides have retained their colour to a remarkable extent.
    Broker Comments
'Not yet viewed but with intention in coming weeks' (comment made end of August) uptodate photos will be prepared and placed on our website (www.lochin.com). It is clear the current owner has taken care of the craft and has a number of spares available together with service manual and owner's handbook.' Vessel laying ashore in boatyard on Sussex/Kent border. Details available from Broker.
