This Ocean Broom 38 is in excellent condition, she has been owned by her current owner for the past 11 years.
Maintenance has always been high priority as she has been cruised extensively, regular trips to the Channel Isles, Coast of France and the rivers and canals of Brittany.
This Ocean Broom 38 has twin Volvo Penta TAMD 41P 200 horsepower engines that are extremely economical, at their slowest in gear speed, they comply with harbour, river and canal maximum speed limits.
During the present ownership there have been many upgrades, including; teak laid decks and cockpit area, (these are in excellent condition, never been oiled or scrubbed!). A Broom 39 helm & navigator's seat (seating for three persons), the boat has also been re carpeted throughout, as well as Ocean Air Blinds. She also benefits from upgraded navigation instruments, most recently class B AIS transponder, and a 4Kva diesel generator for independent living at anchor.
For any new owner, If they wish to keep her berthed locally, there is a transferable marina berth
here at Mayflower International Marina twice winners 2014 and 2015 of coastal Marina of the year, the marina also allows long periods of stay for holidays or a livaboard options.
Should the future purchaser of this boat be slightly inexperienced, then keeping the boat locally gives them the perfect opportunity to get to grips with handling of the boat in sheltered waters. The river Tamar five minutes from the marina berth to the West giving good shelter and calm waters to practice boat handling. There are numerous spots along the Tamar that moorings can be approached, anchorages that can be utilised, and some creeks off the Tamar to explore, giving some valuable experience away from open water to captain and crew.
A local qualified semi-retired engineer and commercially endorsed yacht master is available to maintain and tutor on the boat once purchased if needed, the owner could introduce the buyer to him.
