The Sapphire is a replica of an elegant 1900’s Thames River Launch designed and built by Rupert Latham. She has a distinctive beaver stern, varnished mahogany decks and woodwork with chromed hardware and a varnished oak bow stem. Well admired on the Thames at Henley Regatta and festivals, Sapphire Rose is a traditional style launch but with the advantage of a GRP hull and a modern 2.5kw electric motor with shaft drive greatly reducing annual maintenance. The slender “tunnel hull” design results in a very stable craft which makes very little wash.
