There are many Diesel Duck sister ships out exploring the globe. In addition to their looks, they share a robust steel construction which provides the strength to cross oceans in safety.

Mauri was built in Turkey by the Asboat Yacht Building yard to take advantage of the craftsmanship available and as you look at her photos you will see she has been beautifully built. An enjoyable project, the original owner has now listed her for sale after only very light use…after determining that a larger boat would better suit the family cruising plans.

Mauri’s interior layout easily sleeps eight people. Even below deck there is a generous amount of natural light and air through (fixed and opening) windows, portlights and deck hatches. The use of mahogany finishes and natural teak flooring keep the interior spaces feeling open and airy. The amount of storage in lockers and drawers throughout is exceptional.

There is much to say about the advantages of purchasing an essentially new boat that has an extensive equipment package included and has been broken in and is now available for immediate purchase. No waiting! You can avoid the inevitable two-year yard build, then commissioning.Mauri is ready to go out cruising and priced well below replacement cost.

The Diesel Duck 47 will appeal to a cruising couple who want the safety of shorthanded sailing along with the reliability of a well-constructed hull. With her cabin arrangement there is a nice variety of accommodations to take along a family and / or crew as you go exploring.

The easiest way to get aboard from your dinghy is from the transom swim platform. If you are moored at a dock, there are ladders to the side decks. The swim platform is a secure area and the large hatches you see open up into the aft master stateroom.

On deck, Mauri is easy to move about and shares many of the best features of a cruising sailboat with double walking side decks and tall life lines. She has a windlass and anchor forward with suitable ground tackle. There are two masts with sails so that you can make way in any breeze – sailing along in peace and quiet until the wind softens and it is time to power along.

The raised pilothouse features reverse raked windows forward and offers excellent visibility. Stationed behind the house is a nice outdoor deck area.

Inside the pilothouse you have plenty of seating and a commanding view. There is a desk forward to port and the helm controls with bench seat is forward to starboard.

Pilothouse

The enclosed pilothouse is the ideal location to pilot this yacht, protected from the elements and with a comfortable chair from which you can easily reach all of the necessary controls. The visibility in the pilothouse is exceptional in all directions.

Pilothouse highlights:

Teak flooring

Chart table and dash board

Reading light

Wooden steering wheel

Settee to port with storage underneath

Vetus helm chair (white leather)

Navigation desk with lift up top

Coolmar air conditioning 12,200 BTU

Sony TV

Large windows with pleated blinds

Marine stereo and Fusion speakers

Marine blower

Electrolux refrigeration

Navigation and Electronics

Ritchie compass

Airmar weather station

SIMRAD forward looking sonar

TracPhone V3 (Internet+ Satellite Phone) KVH MINI VSAT Broadband

Raymarine 60STV Premium 60sm DISH (Satellite TV)

(2) Raymarine displays E127 12” MFD with Fish finder and EU Chart

AIS 650 class B transceiver

Raymarine/FLIR T453 thermal camera

Raymarine wind angle display

Raymarine S100 wireless autopilot

Raymarine display P70

Raymarine VHF Radio

VHF antenna

JMC NT-1800 NAVTEX

(2) Navionics Gold map card

Raymarine 4kW radar

(2) CAM50 PAL camera

Raymarine wind angle display

Raymarine depth sounder

Fusion MS-CD 600 MP3/CD-R/CD RW/CD stereo player

Salon

From the pilothouse you go down forward to the saloon level. The Asboat yard in Turkey is well regarded as a builder and you will see from the photos that she exudes quality in her finish work. Add on to that the Bering yard in Turkey has just gone over the entire boat to bring her up to their stringent standards and you have an incredible opportunity to buy essentially a brand new boat well below market value replacement cost.

If you are interested in long range adventures, coastal or passages, Mauri is an excellent example of a lightly used, ready to go yacht. She is very lightly used and very well equipped for long range cruising. Her original owners enjoyed the build process so much that they have now decided to build another new boat, this time a Bering. If you are in the market for a comfortable, easily handled long range passage maker please contact the listing broker to make an appointment for a viewing.

Exclusions

Pictures in frames.
