Smack,Edith CK375, an Essex Sailing Smack, ex wooden sailing fishing boat, Gaff Cutter.
Built by Aldous of Brightlinsea. Returned home to her local waters having been in the Netherlands for the past few years undergoing a massive rebuild. Length on deck 34ft. Her lines and layout have been kept as per original. She has a solid wooden planked deck of Accoya, a counter stern, Carvel planked with oak, as are the Bulwarks. All new mast, boom, gaff, bowsprit and rig. She has a simple interior with a generous headroom for her size, this is due to her having a lead external keel. Taylors parrafin stove is an added bonus to her comfort. Space in 2 cabin areas for 4 persons to sleep She is engineless but is to be sold with an inflatable dinghy and outboard engine. Edith would handle a top mast but this has not been made for her, as yet. Her owner has relocated to Cape Verde, which is why she must be sold.
She will give a new custodian, the real taste of Traditional sailing. Such attractive Traditional lines, a snip at 27,500 for what is really a new build 30ft Gaff Cutter. She carries a retractable bowsprit. Although engineless, she can be pushed along under her counter stern with dinghy and outboard.
She sits on a mud berth in the Smack Dock in Brightlingsea.
