Ex - "FRANTASY" and re-named "SHEBECA" this particular Frances is well known within the Victoria and Frances sailing fraternity. She is currently owned by a professional maritime pilot and has been equipped and re-fitted with the intention of being truly capable and easily sailed shorthanded.
Epoxied beneath the waterline in 1997 during the only previous ownership, much of the re-fitting dates from 2012 or later, with the standing rigging replaced in 2012; the Roller reefing gear fitted in 2014, Lowrance chartplotter and AIS, DSC-capable VHF fitted in 2013, Simrad tiller pilot supplied 2015.
"SHEBECA" is of the sought-after 4 berth layout, with larger, fixed chart table (doubling as food preparation area, opposite the galley and with the two quarter berths aft.

Laid out with the four berths - two quarter berths and two independent and staggered forward berths, with a heads to starboard abaft the starboard berth and forward of a part bulkhead. A large, fixed chart table/galley working surface and large locker space is provided to starboard, opposite the standard galley which is to port. An Origo methylated spirit stove with two burners obviates the need for gas on board.
Engine: Yanmar 1GM10 single cylinder diesel driving a fixed, two-bladed propeller through a conventional shaft.
Fuel Tank: Stainless steel replacement tank, capacity reported to be approx. 60 litres.
Batteries: 2 off 85 A/hr batteries dating from 2014 and 2015.
Selden mast and boom, branded as a Kemp spars, with inner and outer forestays and Plastimo reefing gear fitted to the inner forestay in 2015 and replacement standing rigging fitted 2013.

Factory completed by Victoria Marine Ltd. in August 1981, this Frances has been laid ashore each winter (an overall winter cover is also included in her inventory of equipment). Her underwater surfaces were epoxy coated in 1997 and her wooden rudder re-sheathed and epoxied in 2011.
A replacement engine was fitted in 1994.
Her standing rigging was replaced in 2013, when lazy jacks and an outer forestay and roller reefing system were also fitted, together with the lazy jacks for the mainsail.
Much of the modern instrumentation and the AIS and DSC capable VHF dates from 2013.
