    Hallberg-Rassy - 42

    Accommodation

     

    All interior woodwork in light mahogany matt silk finish. The floor is varnished teak with inlaid holly stripes. The saloon ceiling has paneling with mahogany stripes and the ceilings in the rest of the boat have ivory head linings. Custom upholstery in the main saloon. The upholstery on all the berths rests on unvarnished, well ventilated boards to minimise the risk of condensation. The boat has beige carpet throughout except directly in front of the galley. All portholes are fitted with beige curtains, beige curtains also under the ceiling hatches. Webasto diesel fired warm air heating throughout the boat.

    MAIN SALOON:
    To starboard is a straight settee berth with a lifting backrest which enables the total width of the berth to be used for sleeping. The backrest, which is fitted with a lee cloth, can also be used as an extra berth. On the port side is an L-shaped settee berth with two pull down sections for access to the storage space behind. Lee cloths port and starboard. Between the settees is a dropleaf table with bottle stowage in centre section. Alpine stereo radio/CD player with MP3 connection. Stereo speakers in saloon and in cockpit. Ship's clock and barometer. Headroom in saloon 2m.

    GALLEY:
    Working surfaces in white laminate with strong all round fiddle rail. Insulated icebox with water-cooled 12v refrigeration unit. Double stainless steel sinks with pressurised hot and cold fresh water. Cold freshwater foot pump. Eno cooker with 3 burners and oven. Crockery cupboard and cutlery drawer. Cutting board. Stowage for saucepans and other kitchen utensils.

    FORWARD HEADS COMPARTMENT:
    Bulkheads and lockers in white laminate. Shower stall with teak grating, china washbasin and large mirror. Shower curtain. Mixer tap in washbasin is pulled out for shower use. !2v shower waste pump. Manual pump action marine WC. Stainless steel holding tank. Cupboards above and below washbasin.
    Ventilation through opening porthole and ceiling hatch. Headroom 1.92m

    FORWARD CABIN:
    V-berth with infill cushion. Step for easy access to berths. Lockers both sides and forward. Small vanity unit to starboard, shelved locker and hanging locker. Headroom 1.98m

    CHART TABLE:
    Spacious chart table with lift-up seat. Instrument shelf above. Electric 12v switch panel to the left of the navigator. 5 drawers and stowage slots. Pencil holder, reading light. Large rubber sealed 2-door access to the engine room in the walkthrough to the aft cabin. Headroom in the walkthrough 1.68m. Wet locker and various cupboards to port.

    AFT CABIN:
    The aft cabin has a hanging locker on the portside and two comfortable berths. Stowage room below the berths, lockers both sides and behind the berths. Small vanity unit to port, seat between the berths. Mirror. Maximum headroom 1.91m.

    AFT HEADS COMPARTMENT:
    Bulkheads and lockers in white laminate. Separate shower stall with seat, teak grating, china washbasin and large mirror. Thermostatic shower mixer valve. 12v shower waste pump. Manual pump action marine WC. Stainless steel holding tank. Cupboard above and below the washbasin. Ventilation through opening portlight. Headroom 1.84m.

    Spars and Sails

    Double speader sloop rig from Seldén Masts.  Original standing rigging from 2001.  Boom with outhaul and two reefs.  Jib furling and reefing system by Seldén Furlex.  Seldén rodkicker.  RCB track for fully battened mainsail.  Winches on mast, one for reefing, two for main and jib halyards, extra winch for spinnaker.  Removable cutterstay with running backstays, halyard and extra cars.  Spinnaker pole with track on mast.  Spinnaker halyard and pole uphaul.  Seldén backstay tensioner.  Turnbuckles from Hasselfors, aluminium protection tubes from Seldén, blocks and winches from Lewmar.  Windex.  Combined anchor/tricolour light at masthead.

    DIESEL:
    420 litre capacity stainless steel fuel tank situated under the saloon floor with fuel gauge.  The tank is filled through a deck inlet.  The cruising range in normal conditions is approximately 620 nautical miles.

    WATER:
    Fresh water capacity is 685 litres in two stainless steel tanks, the main tank under the floor holding 320 litres and the reserve tank under the portside settee 365 litres.  The top tank is piped to the main tank and controlled by a stop valve.  The water gauge is fitted to the bottom tank.  40 litre hot water calorifier.  Reserve foot pump in the galley.  Pressurised fresh water system delivering to galley, heads and transom shower.  Filling of the water tanks is through deck inlet.  Carbon filter.  Manual bilge pump and 12v emergency bilge pump.

    ELECTRICITY:
    Two separate 12v battery banks, two 120Ah batteries (new 2016) for engine start and 4 x 105Ah Varta batteries (new 2010) for domestic use.  Additional 60 Amp alternator. 12v electrical sockets in aft cabin, main saloon, forward cabin and in cockpit.  12 electrical switch panel with circuit breakers situated to the side of the chart table.  Voltmeter, water and fuel gauges.  International navigation lights with deck floodlight.  Combined anchor/tricolour light at masthead.
    Full 230v shore power system with RCD and distribution box to the ring main with 4 outlets, Mastervolt 40 Amp battery charger and immersion heater.  Mastervolt 12v/230v/1200W inverter.
