Laurent Giles - Vertue 25

1947, Classic Laurent Giles design built Elkins, Christchurch, Brasilian Mahogany on Oak above waterline and Burmese Teak below, Beta Marine 13hp diesel with only 400 hours, recent sails and standing rigging. In the water and ready to view! REDUCED FOR QUICK SALE!


Beta Marine twin cylinder 13HP inboard diesel fitted new in 2000. Current engine hours approx 400. Indirect cooling, 5 gallon fuel tank with a consumption of around 1/3 of a gallon per hour at a cruising speed of around 4.5 knots. Shaft drive to fixed 3 blade propeller. Alternator charging to one 90 amp/hr 12 volt battery with provision for second battery.


Sestrel Morse compass, Raymarine echo sounder, trailing log, windvane at masthead, Navman 7100 DSC/VHF radio, Yeoman chart plotter, Garmin GPS, radar reflector, navigation light, steaming light, tri colour masthead light and anchor light.


2 fire extinguishers, manual bilge pump. Automatic bilge pump with manual override


Pushpit, pulpit, stanchions and guard wires, cockpit cover (2010), tiller, bumpkin, spinnaker pole, 2 sheet winches fitted with self-tailing attachments, outboard bracket on pushpit, Bruce 7.5kg main anchor with approx 25m chain and warp, manual windlass, kedge anchor, various mooring warps and fenders.


Slab reefing mainsail (James Lawrence, 2009) with 3 reefing points. Plastimo Genoa roller reefing system with furling No 1 Genoa (Mussett, 2009). No 1 Jib (2007). Original storm Jib. Reefing lines led aft to cockpit. Varnished wooden mast and spars and stainless steel standing rigging. Her standing rigging was renewed in 2007.


Her galley has a paraffin cooker with 2 burners, various pots, pans, cutlery and crockery. Blakes marine toilet in forepeak which would benefit from a service. Blue vinyl upholstery, varnished wooden cabin sole.


â┬Ç┬£Owendoâ┬Ç┬Ø was purchased by her current owner in 1999. She is a rather special Vertue having been built by Elkins, a high quality builder with the finest materials including Burmese teak planking below the waterline and Brazilian mahogany above the waterline. The deck is of tongue and groove pitch pine decks sheathed with fibreglass and painted with non slip paint
