    Features
    The LM 27 is one of the most popular of small motor sailers - 'craft- built' by LM Boats Inter'l A/S of Denmark. The accommodation offers a good level of comfort, with 'tailor-made' upholstered cushions for both the Fore- and Main-cabins. Both have upholstered seating and back-rests, doubling as comfortable sleeping berths. The Main Cabin offers a 'double berth' arrangement. Both Port & Stbd have useful fronted lockers, created 'out-board' of the seating. The Galley is outside of the main accommodation (a requirement by Danish regulations). The generous Cockpit has an over-hang from the cabin construction, for protection of the Helm and Galley. Surveyed for the current owner, all recommendations were carried out, together with a number of improvements - including a 'Copper-Coat' hull application - undertaken in an enclosed workshop in March 2013. At the same time, the hull and superstructure were professionally polished. Since then, the craft has been ashore in the Broker's yard.

    A true 'family craft' with the forward accommodation - in V-form - offers a generous twin berth with an infill (included) and cushions. Coming aft a solid door separates the Fore-cabin from the Maiin Cabin, where - to Port & Starboard - the seating has stowage spaces both under and behind the 'back rests'. As a result, a total of 6 persons can be accommodated within the 'fit out'. In the Main Cabin, a table - with hinged extensions- is set in the middle, with seating to both Port and Starboard, sufficient for 'family eating'. Headroom is approx. 6ft. The deck-head has a 'classic' yacht hatch, opening with glazed side and top sections which provide light and ventilation to the accommodation. Forward is the Heads with hand-basin to Port, and a 'hanging locker' to Starboard. This 'well cared-for' craft is with the Broker - ashore at Newhaven.     Navigation
    In addition to engine information - located at the helm - the following navigation aids are positioned towards the 'Master'/Helmsman:

    -SILVA magnetic steering compass;

    -SHIPMATE GPS CP32 Plotter incl. speed & log;

    -NAVMAN VHF/DSC radio;

    -HUMMING-BIRD sounder/fish-finder ;

    -AUTOHELM wind/speed/direction unit;

    -AUTOHELM auto-pilot to tiller (de-mountable) and fitted to the rudder stock.
    Electrical
    2 x 12v batteries are charged by engine alternator, switched for engine start isolation. The engine start battery was replaced 'with new' in 2011. Additionally, a switched and fused '12v electrics panel' for accessories, is also included. A 240vAC 'hook-up' facility was also installed, together with an appropiate cable. The RCD & 13amp ring main were replaced in Sept 2009. This circuit provides for an electric cabin heater when moored alongside.
    Mechanical
    The 28hp Volvo engine appears to be original to the craft and known to have had regular servicing. The unit is below the deck, between the Galley and the raised helm position. Access to the fore-part of the engine is with a forward section of the sole (floor) removed - between the Heads and the hanging locker. Access to the gear-box and shaft is similarly by lifting central sections of the deck in the Cockpit - making it easier for maintenance and access to the batteries, etc.

    Additional data - for example - the ‘deep-sea’ bearing and seal were replaced in 2010. At the same time, the engine oil and filter were changed, together with a drain down of the fresh water system, and anti-freeze added on the ‘sea-water’ side of the cooling system. The inlet valve for cooling water was re-placed in 2012, followed by the anodes being renewed in March 2013. Both oil & filters were changed in April 2013, - with a diesel additive added at the same time. All external skin fittings (i.e. sea-cocks, etc.) were also inspected and serviced in December 2013. Since that time, the craft has been ashore. With appropriate 'lead time' it is possible to have the engine run, albeit it ashore. - or for the charge of ' a lift to launch and return' can be negotiated. (Contact the Broker on 01273 515085).


    Safety
    The craft's 'safety equipment' includes:

    - Full navigation lights (to Code)

    - 1 x Lifebouy in cradle, fitted aft on the guard-rails;

    - 3 x fire-extinguishers; with auto fire extinguisher in the engine space - as well as an auto-electric bilge pump (both fitted new in 2013).

    - 1 x Fire Blanket; 2 x life-jackets as well as Flares (as new in 2013)




    Sails and Rig
    The mast and spars are prepared in anodised aluminium, with stainless steel masthead rigging and Terylene-type running rigging.

    The sails & rigging include:

    Sails: 1 x Mainsail - with furling on boom - and cover.

    1 x Foresail with roller furling.

    1 x Jib sheet - fits furler.

    Mainsheet control lines are brought aft, close to transom. Foresheets are directed to their travellers and winches on the Cockpit coamings. The Main & Genoa combined area is approx. 410 sq.ft. (approx. 40 sq.mtrs).
    Accommodation
    The craft is best boarded at the Cockpit, where a purpose-made blue cover (new in 2013) has zip-open sections to both sides and over the stern, providing full access to/from the Cockpit - which includes bench seating and purpose-made cushions. Forward, the inner HELM location provides the 'Skipper' with a 'conventionally raised seat' - and ability to operate the following -

    - Mechanical - the engine start and throttle lever

    - Navigation instrumentation - see the listed equipment under the 'Navigation'

    - Sails and Rigging.

    Opposite the Galley, a deck-head hatch opens, offering a 360deg vision. A 'fridge' is located within the supporting structure. Opposite is the GALLEY set in a timber structure with drawers and cupboards below. The work-top has a stainless steel sink and drainer, with a conventional cold water supply from the craft's water tank. (Cleaned and sterilised in 2010). A 2-burner gas hob, is also set within the purpose built steel tray. Supporting wooden structure offers stowage drawers for cleaning material, etc. beyond - under the side decks . The Cockpit seats to Port & Starboard each have stowage spaces under, including the Galley's gas cylinder, secured in a purpose-made GRP box and cover. The GRP box includes an evacuation vent, passing through the hull to atmosphere. 'Easy-clean' made-to-fit vinyl upholstery cushions provide comfortable seating. The cushions were new in April 2011. Wet-weather gear can also be stowed under the seating without going into the accommodation areas. A folding table is cleverly stowed under the aft deck. In 'fit-together' sections, it extends virtually to the Galley, making it possible to offer seating and eating - for up to 6-8 persons - three or four persons each side. The Galley has a 'fridge/cold-box' within the structure of the raised helm seat opposite, providing 360deg visibility.

    Forward, the door in the bulkhead - adjacent to both the raised helm and the Galley - has a lock fitted, providing a degree of security when the craft is either ashore or afloat. Ahead, to Port, is the Heads compartment with solid wooden door. Opposite a hanging locker is provided. Going forward leads to the MAIN CABIN with bench seating/single berths to Port and Starboard. Both have fitted cushions. which - when removed - offer further stowage spaces accessed by flush-fitting 'lift off' tops to the lockers - also offered under the seats. On the centre-line a 'fixed' table - with 'drop-down' sections - provides ease of moving fore and aft., as well as making - when raised - a generously-sized table. Above, a glazed 'hatch' is fitted in the deck-head - providing both light and ventilation. The style is characteristic of a practical design with hinged sections which open for light and ventilation. Ahead is the FORE CABIN which, offers a double berth - with stowage spaces under - and a narrow shelf around the cabin. Fabric lining to cabin sides; pvc head-lining; stowage under berths and hatches to spaces forward, providing ventilation & emergency escape, if and when necessary. Over-all, the accommodation provides both useful stowage spaces, as well as a practical centre-line table. With day-light through the deck-head and the opening hatch, full use of this accommodatin can be enjoyed


    Deck
    The craft has 2 x Brittany Kedge anchors - with chain and warp stowed in the fore-deck locker. Mooring lines, fenders & boat-hook are included. Pulpit and Pushpit fittings are in stainless steel, fitted fore and aft with matching stanchions on side decks to 'carry' stainless steel wire hand-rail.









    Stainless steel (s/s) with s/s deck stanchions and double stainless guard wires. Stanchions removed, re-fitted and bonded in 2009. Minor cracks were found in the side decks - cleaned back, made good and finished with gel coat in 2010. Fairleads and cleats with substantial fore-deck cleat for anchoring. Wooden handrails to coach-roof of Deck Saloon. Cockpit covers - new in 2012 - with transparent sections and zip roll up sections - all with s/s frame support. Folding transom ladder at stern.

    "I was attracted to the LM 27 by her clean lines and the care of the then current owner. I have had a number of improvements/up-dates undertaken during 2012/3 and am now ready to sell with perhaps a more 'classic craft' in thought". Note: the photos of the Main Cabin show two different covers to the seating. The 'check' design was superceded by the plain covers 2/3 years ago.

    'We have known this craft for a number of years. Each of the recent owners have attended to all aspects of the craft and had work carried out and/or new elements purchased, to maintain both the craft's value and comfort. A recent 'cut and polish' - of both hull & superstructure - has made this craft 'like new'. Equally, the application of 'Copper-coat' to the underwater areas makes a very attractive opportunity to acquire a craft which not only looks much younger, but one where attention to detail has been very much the approach of the current and past owners. A warm-air ducted system was installed new in 2010: (Currently in need of service). The craft is in the yard of the Broker,, who has a crane which enables a launch of the vessel for trial etc. as well as the need to 'un-step' the mast and rigging, for road transport., together with the craft.
