Accommodation<br /><br />Generous accommodation offering up to 6 berths in 3 cabins with full standing headroom throughout, the saloon could also be utilised to provide further berths if necessary.<br /><br />OWNERS FORWARD CABIN: Large island double berth with excellent storage in various lockers, large mirror, hatch to foredeck and en suite access to the heads compartment.<br /><br />HEADS: Fitted with an electric flush marine toilet, washbasin, shower with teak grating and storage cupboards.<br /><br />GALLEY: U-Shaped galley re-fitted to a high standard and equipped with a 4-burner ceramic electric hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge, stainless steel twin sink and ample storage. <br /><br />DINETTE: Forward to port, large U-shaped dinette seating area which can convert to form a double berth, with useful storage beneath and behind seating. Steps up to the light and comfortable saloon.<br /><br />WHEELHOUSE SALOON: Full length settee to port offering comfortable seating for 6, coffee table and storage areas. Helm position to starboard with captains chair, instrumentation and navigation equipment, with sideboard running aft. Steps up to aft deck and passageway down to aft cabin.<br /><br />AFT CABIN: Configured with single berths to port and starboard with storage and hatch to aft deck. En suite heads compartment fitted with a marine toilet, washbasin with combined shower head and cupboard. <br /><br />GENERAL EQUIPMENT: Pressurised hot and cold water system via calorifier throughout. Eberspacher diesel fired heating (new 2015) with outlets to all cabins except aft cabin, which is fitted with an electric convector heater. Teak and holly sole boards. Light wood finishes throughout with complimenting headlinings. <br /><br />EXTERIOR SPACE: Spacious aft deck with room for alfresco dining and steps up to flybridge with seating and upper helm position. Safe, wide side decks leading to the foredeck. All-round safety rails with hardwood cappings, side and aft gates. Bow platform for improved safety anchoring.<br /><br />Mechanical Systems<br /><br />Located under wheelhouse sole, 2 x Volvo Penta TAMD60B 235hp 6-cylinder turbo diesel engines. Freshwater cooled via heat exchangers. Morse dual single lever controls with electric start. Full engine instrumentation. Twin shaft drives (shafts and cutlass bearings replaced approximately 2006) with rope cutters to bronze 3-bladed propellers (new 2006, professionally balanced and refinished 2015). Twin stainless steel 500 litre fuel tanks (new approximately 2006 including Racor filters, senders, feed pipes and filler caps) Sidepower 80kgf bowthruster (new 2008) with control at upper helm (an additional control could easily be installed at the lower helm if required). <br /><br />The engines were overhauled approximately ten years ago, this included new injectors, engine mounts and other items. They have proved very reliable during her current ownership and appear to be in good cosmetic condition for their age. They are currently showing 165 and 187 engine hours which is believed to be the hours run since overhaul and the last service was carried out around 40hrs ago.<br /><br />Electrical Systems<br /><br />5 x 12v Batteries charged via engine alternators. Shorepower system with Sterling battery charger, immersion coil and ring mains. 1.5kw Inverter for mains power away from shorepower. White semi-displacement hull, superstructure and decks. Professional osmosis treatment carried out in 2003. Flybridge with stainless steel arch. Spacious exterior with wide, safe decks and large aft deck for entertaining outdoors.<br /><br />Malaika has clearly been subject to a thorough programme of upgrades and maintenance and is almost certain to be the best of her class. Internally she has been upgraded with new wood finishes, headlinings, fittings and much more. Mechanically, the engines and compartment are in far better cosmetic condition than we are used to seeing at this age and her electrical systems and navigation equipment are all of a much higher standard than usual.
