Hempel’s advice website puts antifouling in the picture
Yacht coatings specialist Hempel recently launched a dedicated website for sailing fanatics who might need advice about boat care and maintenance.
We’ve explored the Hempel Keep Sailing site and have been impressed by the video content which really spells out each stage of the anti-fouling paint process that should be observed to get the best results.
According to Hempel, the average sailing enthusiast spends a considerable amount of time and money on vessel maintenance each year, and so Hempel’s new yacht website has been created to help ensure that this money and time is well spent.
Here’s one of the videos: How to paint below the waterline
Thomas Olsen, Marketing & Business Manager for Yacht at Hempel, says: “Maintenance is an essential part of keeping a boat’s sailing properties and appearance – not to mention value. But sometimes yacht owners end up wasting time and money by either choosing the wrong product for the job or applying the product incorrectly. The new website ensures they have the information they need to do a perfect job first time.”
Tutorials and yacht care trends
The website includes a really useful selection of how-to videos and tutorials, from choosing and applying a hull coating to cleaning and varnishing wood. There’s also comprehensive product information, a Paint Calculator to help you work out the amount of paint you need for each task, a list of stockists and the latest news on new products, boat shows and yacht care trends.
“Our motto at Hempel is ‘Keep sailing’, because we want to help ensure yachting enthusiasts spend as much time out on the water as possible,” says Thomas Olsen, who is a keen sailor himself. “Our new website is just one aspect of how we can help.”
