UK rigging specialist opens rig shops in Devon and Hampshire
Tyne & Wear-based Petersen Stainless Rigging is celebrating the opening of two new rig shops on Britain’s south coast. The company says the outlets will try and set a new standard for rigging in the UK market in response to the recent influx of Far Eastern fittings and wire.
The first shop is located at MDL Marinas' Dartside Quay in Brixham, Devon, and is headed by Charlie Hutton and Dan Thursfield. It was opened to provide a continuing service to customers of the former Atlantic Spars, where they both worked prior to the company being wound-up in the middle of last year.
The second rig shop is located at Universal Marina on the River Hamble in Hampshire. It is headed by Paul Russell, who joins the Petersen team from Ocean Yacht Systems. Russell also worked for both Spencer Rigging and Navtec for many years.
Petersen Stainless Rigging is one of the largest manufacturers of rigging fittings in the world. The company prides itself on fittings and wire that have full traceability back to the raw materials used in their manufacture.
