Boat Name: Pascua
Location: Maylandsea, Essex GB
Class : Steilsteven Barge
Category: Power/ Sail
Class: Motor Barge
Dutch motor barge, 20m Steilsteven converted home. She does have a deck stepped mast, easily lowered when required (this reduces her air draft to under 5m). Used only under power in her present ownership. She has been their home for the past ten years. They have cruised extensively in Europe, making a base for themselves in Essex. She is in remarkable condition the mechanical/systems side of things, as well as the domestic comforts. Headroom below, is mostly, well over 6ft, there are some smaller hatches/lower doorways and sidedecks. One main double cabin forward, a small office/snug, a walkthrough, heads with shower, a large galley/saloon. A companionway leads up into a small day cabin. The wheelhouse is separate and aft of the main accommodation. In here there is an access hatch to the Bosun’s locker below, in the very aft of the ship. She has good wide clear decks and high continuous steel bulwarks around the decks. She is full of character with many quirky curios throughout the vessel. She would appeal to an enthusiast with the penchant for “things old and quirky”. She can be entirely self sufficient with a generator, an air compressor, mechanical pumps and driven winches all making the harder tasks easier. A revolving solar panel is utilised to produce the electricity required. In the accommodation she has 2 x diesel fed heaters (wheelhouse and the fore cabin), in the galley there is a solid wood open fire but also a 1930’s French enamelled cooking range. This has a tank which could be used for heating water. A separate hatch leads down into a large engine room/ pump room, electric plant and a workshop, all keep clean, tidy and well ordered. She would not appeal to the faint hearted, she needs a knowledgeable adaptable person/ couple to take her on from here.
Summer 2015 she has been out of the water for and insurance survey and an external refit.
The interior is presently having a make over/ refresh. Images to follow.
