It is likely to be listed by most surveyors but is not structural or an integral working part of the vessel and is not to be used to further negotiate the price down after survey. Owners Comments & History
After 11 years the original owner sold her to a gentleman, who lovingly cared for her for 21 years. We learnt that he served in the US Navy during the 2nd World War in Japanese Waters. He sailed from her then home port in California to Japan to re-trace some of the areas he covered in the 2nd World War.
When we first went to view, we noted that he had a model replica of Jamboree in his living room and it was clear to us that she played a very important part of his life. We will always remember how emotional he was when we sailed away from his private dock at his house.
We purchased with the intention of cruising the world and living full time onboard once our yachting career slowed down. (I am a yacht captain and Kai is the chef/mate on a privately owned yacht currently situated in the Caribbean. We have been working on privately owned yachts for 15 years now.)
When we bought her we knew she is the yacht for us, as she is perfect for cruising and living aboard very comfortably.
Some of our criteria when looking for our yacht were: a well built yacht that sails well in rough seas, a yacht that can be handled by 1 or 2 people only, a yacht that has the interior space of a "home" including a large main bedroom and several more cabins with heads for family and friends, a yacht that has a large cockpit which offers protection from the elements (wind, rain and sun), a yacht that is affordable.
Having worked on several different types of vessels in our career, we knew exactly what was important to us, and Jamboree ticked all the boxes.
We sailed from California, via the Panama Canal, to The Chesapeake Bay on the East Coast of the USA. We quickly learnt on this trip that, with just the two of us, we could easily manage. She is a wonderful cruising vessel and one feels comfortable and safe, even in heavy weather.
Although she needed very little improving, we made some enhancements to the the heads and master cabin and added new navigation equipment, a backup Autopilot system, a new windlass and additional spares and items necessary for long term deep water cruising.
In the last 6 years we sailed in the Mediterranean, mainly in Spain and Greece. We now sadly have to sell her because of family health reasons and hope that we will be able to hand her over to someone who will love her as much as her prior owners have.
    Improvements in our ownership:
    1. Installed new hydraulic autohelm (she now has 2 autohelm systems for long distance cruising)
    2. Installed new chart plotter
    3. Added second motor for the tender
    4. Upgraded the master cabin with a larger bed
    5. Upgraded countertops and fittings in the heads
    6. Re-furbished the teak deck
    7. Installed new fuel polishing and engine oil extraction system
    8. Installed 2 new solar panels on the cockpit roof
    9. Installed new isolation transformer
    10. Installed new 12 volt battery charger
    11. Installed new battery banks
    12. Supplied boom vang for safe downwind sailing
    13. Installed new anchor windlass
    14. Installed new tool drawer system
    15. Purchased parachute sea anchor for ocean sailing (still unused)
    16. Drive shaft removed and inspected, renewed pillar bearings and cutlass bearing
    13. Many other smaller projects and supplies
    14. New canvas boat cover
    15. New Dive compressor and tanks (included if full asking price is paid €250,000)
