    The Trapper T28 is a much respected cruiser/racer with a good turn of speed.

    Able to handle herself if things get a little rough.

    CONSTRUCTION & CONDITION
    CONSTRUCTION & CONDITION: The hull is of round bilge form with a raked stem and retrousse counter stern. A fin keel is fitted with a spade rudder. The grp spade rudder is fitted with a stainless steel stock, which operates within a glassed in rudder tube. Steering by means of a hardwood tiller. The superstructure consists of fore and side decks, a low line coach roof and aft cockpit. The hull is constructed from grp, stiffened by bonding in of bulkheads, locker dividers, floors and interior mouldings. The exterior of the topsides is finished in a white paint over the original gelcoat with painted triple diagonal blue stripes to the aft quarters. The underwater area is finished with blue antifouling and a blue boot top. The gel coat has been over-painted with white gloss, the walking surfaces of the deck finished with overpainted Treadmaster, the cabin roof finished with light blue deck paint.

    ENGINE, SAILS, DECK EQUIPMENT
    ENGINE: A Dolphin 12hp twin-cylinder petrol engine is installed on flexible mounts to bonded in bearers beneath the cockpit. It is raw water-cooled. The dry exhaust incorporates a stainless silencer and discharges overboard through the transom. Single lever remote controls are fitted in the cockpit with the control panel. The engine is installed beneath the cockpit and drives conventional stern gear. The engine is understood to have been fitted new in 2005 by Dickie’s. The stainless fuel tank is located in the starboard cockpit locker

    SAILS & RIGGING: The rig is masthead Bermudian set on a deck-stepped mast. Anodised aluminium alloy spars consist of single spreader mast and slab reefing boom, both supplied by Kemp. The standing rigging is of 1 x 19 construction in stainless steel wire with roller-swaged terminals and stainless steel rigging screws. Mainsail: Team Sails, old but still serviceable.

    DECK EQUIPMENT: Consisting of: a stainless steel pulpit, pushpit, stanchions with alloy bases and stainless guardrail wires. A stainless stem fitting with alloy bow roller, alloy mooring cleats and fairleads. Sail controls of plastic/Tufnol/stainless and alloy with rope clutches, Lewmar winches to the halyards and control lines with Harken self-tailing winches to the genoa, alloy jib and mainsheet tracks. Teak/iroko handrails, etc. Ground tackle Consisting of a 25lb (approx.) CQR anchor shackled to a length of 5/16” galvanised short link chain and then to a length of 12mm Multi plait nylon warp, leading through a hooded chain pipe into a storage in the forepeak.


    ACCOMMODATION, NAVIGATION, ELECTRIC & SAFETY
    ACCOMMODATION & DOMESTIC: The accommodation consists of a v-berth in the fore cabin with a sea toilet fitted to port with a hanging locker opposite. The Jabsco sea toilet is fitted, plumbed with reinforced PVC hose and secured with stainless steel hose clips. Going aft, the main cabin with a single settee berth to port and starboard, the galley and chart area arranged across the aft end of the cabin. A manual hand pump is fitted at the galley, but no tank fitted. A two-burner Plastimo Neptune cooker is mounted on gimbals at the galley and is supplied by a 4.5kg Calor Gas butane which is stowed in the port cockpit locker. The supply tubing is BS3212/2 neoprene direct from the cylinder to the cooker. The furniture is constructed from hardwood-faced plywood with hardwood trim, with extensive use of grp mouldings to form the berth bases, hull lining, furniture and sole surround. The upholstery is covered with black leatherette cloth, the deck head, cabin side and hull linings are of grp, the removable cabin sole board of
    plywood.
    An original classic bulkhead mounted Taylor's paraffin heater is installed.
    The paraffin (Kerosene) version of this much loved heater is fuelled from its own pump pressurised supply tank. The burner, accessed from the front opening door, is self cleaning and self pricking, and like all Taylor's burners, well proven & extremely reliable. They provide a nice dry heat, thus reducing on board condensation. Worth over £1000 new.

    NAVIGATION EQUIPMENT: Navigation lights consist of a tricolour masthead light. Autohelm ST wind speed and direction. Autohelm ST30 log, speed and depth. Garmin GPS128. Seafarer RT650 Multi Seavoice. Vhf radio. Autohelm 1000 tiller pilot.

    ELECTRIC EQUIPMENT: The 12v DC system is supplied from two batteries

    SAFETY EQUIPMENT: A manual pump was fitted in the cockpit locker and is plumbed with reinforced Pvc hose, secured with stainless steel hose clips with its suction from the main bilge and discharging through the transom.
