Safety Equipment: HISTORYSince REBECCA was launched and commissioned in Marthas Vineyard in 2001, she has benefited from having a full-time professional skipper aboard, so has been maintained to a very high standard. Over the years, a number of minor modifications have been made to her original specification, particularly in connection with obtaining full European chartering status and she now carries an extensive range of high specification safety equipment. In her five seasons at sea, REBECCA has cruised in Massachusetts and Maine; extensively in the Caribbean; has crossed the Atlantic and cruised in Ireland, and on the west coast of France and Portugal, passing through the Straits of Gibraltar and into the Mediterranean in 2005. She has taken part in a handful of regattas to date, winning the Sweethearts Regatta in the BVI and the Classics Class in Antigua Classics, 2002.
