Contest 55CS, built in 1998 by Conyplex in Holland, to a George Nissen/Doug Petersen design. White GRP hull and superstructure with decorative blue stripe and varnished teak decks. Whitlock Refl ex wheel steering. A magnificent yacht, well equipped with many extras, built for comfortable and fast sailing with minimum crew.
Cutter rig with Proctor hydraulic in mast furling and Reckmann genoa furling. Mast & boom in white Awlgrip H8010 white oyster coated aluminium. Dyneema mainsail, 1 x Andersen 40ST winch, 1 x Andersen 52ST winch, 2 x Andersen 46ST winches for mainsail, 2 Andersen 58ST electric winches to genoa. Genoa, staysail, mainsail and assymetrical spinnaker.
Hurth gearbox, Consumption about 10 litres / hour at cruising speed of 8-9 knots. Sleipner bowthruster, Maxprop 3 bladed propeller, Onan 5kw generator, Victron battery charger. Engine room soundproofed. Electric and manual bilge pumps. 6 x 108 amp batteries and 5 x Optima 12v batteries for generator & bowthruster.
Whitlock compass, Shipmate RS 8300-BZT VHF with DSC connector in cockpit, B&G Hydra 2 log, echosounder, wind 2 x FFD (analogue and digital) with repeaters. Radar reflector.
