| The Dehler 34 from the Judel & Vrolijk design studio combines the comfort and space of a family yacht with the performance of a sporty cruiser. As a family yacht, the Dehler 34 is a boat that is easily handled with a spacious and well protected cockpit for those families who want to share their sailing experiences with their young children. Nevertheless this boat is a fast sailing boat so also the regatta sailor will be pleased.
The Dehler 34 has a 9/10 rig and a Sparcraft keel-stepped, tapered mast with two pairs of spreaders. All sheets and halyards are adjustable from the cockpit. The steering wheel is mounted on the cockpit integrated steering console. The remote controlled navigation instruments are mounted on a flying bridge. The decks are wide and well accessible and the boat has a spacious and quite deep cockpit. The deklayout is well thought of and many design details catch the eye. The companionway board e.g. ingeniously slides down into a slot in the cockpit sole and can be locked in various positions.
Below decks, the luxurious interior is finished in mahogany with solid wood trim and door frames. On portside is an L-shaped pantry with stove, oven and coolbox. Opposite on starboard is a nagigation corner with large navigation screen both for GPS and radar. A roomy L-shaped sofa provides comfort, along with two additional sea berths. A table, folding on both sides, gives easy access fore and aft and a bar storage compartment. The two cabins with double beds in bow and aft ship also provide ample storage facilities and a ventilation system that gives a constant comfortable atmosphere.
Dehlers are known for incorporating innovative features into solid boats that perform well. This Dehler 34 will certainly be appealing to experienced sailors who value the combination of comfortable fast sailing and modern technology.
