    Morgan Giles - MG-30 Sailboat

    SegelbooteavailableMorgan GilesMG-30

The MG 30 is a well regarded, solid, long keeled cruiser that was still in production until the mid 90's. She has been well maintained and up-graded during the years of my ownership.

Whilst attractive, slim and fair, she includes a traditional layout for her age. The hull was laid up in thick grp with an encapsulated keel and the top-sides are fitted out with hardwood features. She comprises a great package for coastal cruising and some club racing fun

    Dimensions Details

Min Draft/ Drive Up: 1.47 Meters
    Cockpit Position: Aft

    Construction Details

    Hull Shape: Long keel
    Additional Information:
The yacht is based on a one piece hull shell moulding to which is bonded the fibre-glass deck, self draining cockpit and coach roof as a single unit. The bulkheads are of marine ply and bonded to the shell before the decking goes on. Both the hull and deck have been painted with the decks have recently installed non-slip rubber matting. The Copper coated hull avoids the need for cold spring day antifouling
The topside rails, garage and seats are of Iroko, the combings and minor fittings of Teak. New stainless safety wires lead from pulpit aft to a push pit with ladder access. External fittings include a stove chimney plus 'Cool and Dry' dorade for the head.
The internal furniture is of marine ply with a Cherrywood veneer and trims. The insulating side panels are in Maple strip as is the bulk head layering. Some of the cabin trim is in Iroko with the floor comprising varnished Teak planking. The internal ceiling has 6 foot head clearance with foam insulation behind foam-backed leatherette lining panels. Moving forward, the head height reduces but the area still has similar paneling. A houdini hatch brightens the fore-cabin and an array of recent tempered glass window keeps the cabin area bright. Through-out, she's cool in summer and warm on the colder days, especially with the sea stove alight.
Three cockpit lazarettes and a rear locker have shelving and provide amble boat gear storage. A hinged anchor locker lies up at the fore.
