    Description

    John Bain Silverleaf, a Classic carvel twin engine wooden motor vessel.
    Three cabins including the saloon, Headroom 6ft 2ins. Twin BMC engines.
    Capable of sleeping eight persons.
    An historic vessel which has been continually well maintained to a high standard
    She is part one registered and her whole history is documented.
    She has spent time on the River Severn/the South Coast and the East Coast.

    Her original registered name was “Marion”. In 1935 she was fitted with a bath and twin Morris Commodore, petrol engines. There is no longer a bath but a second heads compartment with a shower. The engines were changed for twin BMC diesel engines.
    She participated in the Queens Jubilee Pageant and cruised on several holiday trips on the East Coast and the Thames.

    Construction: Carvel planked, long keel. Pitch pine on oak frames with external cast iron keel
    Self draining cockpit aft. Transom stern
    Hardwood superstructure all varnished
    Decks and coach roof sheathed and painted in buttermilk colour over tongue and groove planked pine
    The aft deck area is laid teak.
    All is in very good order
    Accommodation: Headroom: 6ft 2 ins
    Enclosed wheelhouse with accommodation running fore and aft.
    Skylights with original fittings.
    9 brass opening portholes down both side of the vessel making her interior very light and airy

    Layout
    Two bunk berths in the fore cabin. Step access out to the fore deck through opening hatch.
    Small hanging locker and drawer storage.
    Head compartment, portside with sea toilet (new and unused ) Porcelain sink with hot and cold tap,
    running water. Vanity mirror and original light fitting. Shaving socket point.
    Aft through oak door into the stateroom with twin single berths, wardrobe stowage and plenty of drawers.
    Steps up into the wheel house.
    There are two fold down seats for guests in the wheel house. Access to either side deck.
    Steps down into the saloon here there are opposing settee berths. The backs of which fold up and suspended from the coach roof, if more berths are required.
    Deck sides and head linings all painted out in white.
    Original cabin light fittings.
    Fold up oak dining table with stowage fixings to the floor.
    Glass fronted display cabinets and stowage lockers.
    Through another solid door into the new galley built from reclaimed wood.
    Fitted with a double sink. Brass pump for fresh water and hot and cold running water taps.
    Gimballed paraffin Talyor’s stove with double burners and oven.
    Stowage cupboards. Storage shelves.
    Access to the aft bathroom where there originally was a bath (but no longer) there is a toilet and a sink
    with running water plus a shower head.
    There would be room for a shower tray to be fitted.
    Companionway to the aft cockpit and deck area.
