Looking at today's Palmer Johnson motor yachts, it's hard to imagine that this American shipyard with over 100 years of history is famous for building excellent sailing yachts. Her portfolio includes legendary sailboats that have won many regattas; yacht Fortuna, built in 1979 for King Juan Carlos of Spain and… one of the last sailing gems, created shortly before Palmer Johnson completely switched to the construction of high-speed motor yachts - the 37-meter Galileo built in 1989.

Galileo was designed by equally famous people. Established in 1929, Sparkman & Stephens designed a plethora of yachts for America's Cup, including the 130-foot Ranger, which won 12 of the 12 America's Cup races in 1937 and became a sailing legend. In addition, Sparkman & Stephens are the authors of many unique yachts of the most famous and influential people in the world - Rockefeller, Rothschild, Ford, Disney, the Aga Khan and others.

There are not so many classic sailboats in the world. Especially those that have managed over the long decades of their lives not only to maintain the original style of the golden age of sailing, but also to remain in excellent technical condition, allowing them to sail around the world. Galileo is one of those.

Maintaining a classic yacht in perfect condition requires a lot of effort, money and time. But most of all, it requires true love and passion for these beautiful creatures. Galileo owes a lot to her owner, who got her not in the best condition and put a lot of effort to ensure that the yacht was flawless in all aspects. Hull painting, new sailing equipment, teak and deck equipment - this is just things that are visible to the naked eye, apart from the large-scale update of all on-board systems - steering, navigation, hydraulic.

Galileo is the perfect yacht for relaxing at sea with family and friends, capable of long voyages in complete comfort. There are three very spacious cabins accommodating six guests, including a luxurious master suite with a king-size bed. The crew is accommodated in separate cabins with all amenities. The deck space is divided into sun-protected areas and open sunbathing areas. And for water activities, you will have two jet skis on the fore deck and a tender in the stern.

The magnificent yacht interior by John Munford, with an abundance of teak, lacquered wood, carefully selected furnishings and unique details such as the portrait of the great astronomer Galileo engraved on the backs of the seats deserves special attention. Careful restoration of the interior has made it possible to preserve on board the unique atmosphere of the classic sailing ships of the past.

At the same time, Galileo least of all resembles a museum exhibit. This is one of the most actively traveling yachts in the world. And since Galileo is in great shape, she still has many adventures ahead in the seas and oceans of the entire planet.
