We've owned this Catalina 27 for two years now (it's our second) and we are sad to see her go but we've moved up to a C30 to accommodate a growing family.
The 27 is roomy on the inside (standing height is over 6') with a large cockpit. The companionway is wide resulting in a great large-boat feel when sailing with the companionway open. It sleeps 3-4 comfortably, 5-6 if needed. The head and shower work.
This boat has a traditional C27 layout, sleeps six, using the vee berth forward (with filler cushion), the main cabin has port and starboard settee berths (starboard converts to a double) and a starboard aft quarter-berth. Forward cabin has a large hatch with attachable bug screen. Enclosed head also has sink and pressure water shower head ventilation hatch. We had new interior cushions made (the originals were ugly as could be), there is bulkhead mounted folding table as well. Gally is aft to port with ice box, sink with pressure water system, two burner gimballed alcohol stove and cutting board included.
She is easy to sail solo or with a crew, is very responsive and holds course well. Wheel steering is great and wheel locks once you've set your course. The universal diesel engine runs smoothly and reliably. She also handles up to 10 and makes a great perch for Burlington waterfront concerts or fireworks. The two deep cycle batteries are only one season old. Includes VHF radio as well as AM/FM CD MP3 Bluetooth stereo with interior and cockpit speakers.
Storage cradle is included.
I just finished buffing her out and she's ready to hit the water (splash is included in the price). This is your chance to captain your own vessel and live out your freshwater mariner dream!
In 2016 we replaced the forestay and rolling furler (now a furlex), Main and Jib halyards, interior and cockpit cushions, mast lighting, water pump (for sinks and shower), and bilge pump.
