Cornish Shrimper 19 - Sail Number 955
Presented in great condition and with the benefit of the Yanmar diesel engine. 2 berths with a sea toilet and small galley. The underwater sections have been 'Coppercoated'; a particularly good option for a boat that is to be immersed and recovered from the water frequently.
Early viewing is highly recommended. 'Electra' is stored undercover on the premises of a preservation steam railway and therefore prior arrangements will be made, for the current owner to meet interested parties and to conduct any viewing.
Laid out in what is termed the '2+a loo' layout, the internal woodwork is finished in the later 'New England'-style with tongue and grooved effect vertical faces and white-washed hull-side wood. The cabin offers two comfortably wide berths that run aft, beneath the cockpit's seats, with a fixed marine-flushing toilet, mounted within a recess formed in the internal moulding on the centreline. Cushions are covered in the 'Cochin' Madura fabric option, with matching privacy curtain. The top washboard is of 'smoked-grey' acrylic to lend light to the interior.
Mechanical and Electrical systems
A Yanmar 1GM10 G that has been regularly serviced drives a two-bladed, fixed propeller through a conventional stainless steel shaft.
Single lever Morse control.
Rope cutter - shaft knife type. Electrical: 75 Ah lead acid battery (new in 2018). Fused switch panel wired from the battery. 12 volt socket. A small P.V.(solar) panel - 'unisolar' that is reportedly very effective in trickle-charging the battery while leaving the boat on moorings.
Sails and Spars
Wooden Spars - Mast, Boom, Gaff and Bowsprit
An Aero Luffspar furler (New in 2019) is fitted, featuring a carbon-fibre spar to prevent luff twist and enhance reliability when furling the sail in 'stiff' sailing conditions.
Two sets of reefing lines on the mainsail.
Boom crutch - sits on the horse.
The topping lift has been altered to a more traditional method of working - from a cleat on the mast, up through a block and out to the boom end.
The original Crabbers topping lift can be replaced if required. Tri-colour and all-round white lights and 'Hawk' wind indicator with VHF antenna fitted at the masthead. Sails: Tan-coloured, by Jeckylls Sails; the mainsail with 3 rows of reef points and a sail No. 955. Furling headsail.
Magnetic steering compass. Tri-data ST40 instrument display by Raymarine giving Speed/log/depth. Simrad RD68 VHF radio.
Sprayhood with a high spec, stainless steel supporting frame, new 2017. Cockpit cushions - covering in 'Ambala Slryu'. Cockpit/cabin table. Sail cover. Anchor with warp and chain. Telescopic boat hook. S/S fixed swim ladder on stern. 3 fenders with lanyards. 2 x 40' mulitiplat mooring ropes (probably unused). Shrimper mooring strop with pickup buoy, swivel and shackles. Overall winter cover in white canvas.
A two-wheeled road trailer by Bramber, with an associated piggyback launching trolley that was supplied by Cornish Crabbers' usual specification is included in the sale.
