    Nautitech - 40 Open

    Yelkenli tekneavailableNautitech40 Open

Very high specification latest-generation Nautitech 40 Open cruising catamaran from Marc Lombard, Nautitech Catamarans and Bavaria. Used for the original brochures and presented for sale EU VAT-paid and in sparkling condition throughout.

One of the first products of the new partnership between the legendary French-builder Nautitech Catamarans and the endless production resources of German builder Bavaria Yachts, and not to be confused with her earlier sisterships, the Marc Lombard designed Nautitech 40 Open is presented in this instance in 3-cabin ‘Owner’s’ layout form.

Ordered in late 2017 and delivered as a 2018 model year, AQUA is a high specification example, originally displayed at the 2017 Cannes Boat Show and used by Nautitech/Bavaria for their brochure photos and for their promotion video. Benefitting from fitment of the Exclusive Version package, Nav-Pack Cruiser and Nav-Pack Advanced Packs, Electronic Comfort Pack and Bluewater Pack, AQUA is further equipped with an options total exceeding Euro 150,000 before VAT. Her specification hightlights include:-
    Grey vinyl topsides
    Synthetic teak cockpit sole
    Copper coat underwater treatment
Upgraded 40hp Volvo 4-cylinder engines with 3-bladed folding propellers
    Electric main halyard winch
    Furling gennaker
Desalator 60 litre per hour 12vDC watermaker
Climma reverse cycle air-conditioning and heating system
    Upgraded service battery capacity
    Solar panels
Full B&G instruments package with plotters, 4G Broadband radar, AIS transceiver and autopilot
    Fusion entertainment system
‘Titanium look’ anodised aluminium exterior trim package
    Full cockpit enclosures
    Forward lounge package
    Teak 8-person cockpit table
Owner’s cabin layout with port hull given over exclusively to owner’s accommodation
Oak interior joinery with Elm floors and Opus stone grey leatherette interior upholstery
    Electric freshwater flush heads
Pre-wiring for microwave and washing machine installation

Australian-flagged, yet fully EU VAT paid (paid in France in 2019), AQUA CAT is immediately available and represents a fantastic opportunity to acquire one of these hugely popular latest-generation performance bluewater cruising catamarans.

Because of its similarity to the previous Nautitech 40 Open, a winner in SAIL’s Best Boats contest a few years ago, you could perhaps label the latest version of the boat as a “Mark II” design. Nonetheless, the many tweaks made to the already award-winning design more than warrant giving the latest iteration of this boat a closer look.

Although now owned by Germany’s Bavaria Yachts, all Nautitechs continue to be built in the company’s original factory in Rochefort, France. The only difference is that the Nautitech now uses joinery pieces fabricated at the Bavaria facility in Giebelstadt, Germany. The boats are constructed with a resin-infused technique that produces a light, strong, uniform composite with a clean finish on both sides. The decks also include a closed-cell foam core.

The joinery on our test boat was an attractive, light-toned oak, precisely fitted and finished. The cabin doors are solid wood, while locker doors are made with a foam core with a veneer surface to reduce weight.
Access to the engines is through the aft end of the hulls, and I found good maintenance space around the 40hp Volvo saildrives.

All the secondary systems are neatly installed, with the wires bundled, wrapped and labeled and the hoses double-clamped to bronze seacocks with ball valves. The boat has a distributed wiring system, so only the control wires run to the panels.

The Nautitech 40 Open is a refined boat, the result of an evolution that provides greater comfort and visibility while retaining the fine sailing qualities and cruising amenities of its predecessor. It would be hard to imagine a better multihull design in this particular market niche.

    SAIL Magazine – February 2019

Right from the start Bavaria has stood for vision and innovation. With the ongoing further development of the Cruiser Line and successful additions to the range, it now seems to be the logical consequence for Bavaria to take on and develop the catamaran sector as well. The Nautitech Shipyard, well known worldwide, has been chosen for this mission.

Nautitech, who becomes today the Shipyard Bavaria Catamarans is an example of a successful integration. The assets of the two manufacturers are the basis of this excellent collaboration. Both shipyards are driven by design and quality craftsmanship, and have played a part in the constant evolution of their market segments.

With the integration of the Nautitech Open concept into Bavaria Catamarans, Nautitech existing serial production has been supplemented by the qualitative and quantitative virtues of Bavaria.

The Nautitech 40 Open from Bavaria Catamarans is manufactured in Rochefort on the Atlantic Coast. She is the embodiment of over thirty years of experience in the construction of cruising catamarans by NAUTITECH in France and just as much expertise in interior design and working with wood by Bavaria Yachts from Germany.

The NAUTITECH 40 OPEN is designed by Marc Lombard, one of the most successful yacht designers in France. Yachts designed by Marc Lombard guarantee perfect sailing performance and seagoing hulls. The elegant and functional design below deck comes from Stéphane Roséo and his team at Studio Roséo Design.

The spacious cockpit and luxurious saloon become one living space. Time to talk, time to rest, time for friends, time for yourself the Nautitech 40 has it all.

The redesign of the saloon & galley space on this facelift version, gives to this new 40 Open a sense of more generous space and comfort. The new layout of the galley offers a better functional workplace, new quality materials Corian® and a greater sharing with the cockpit.

The Bavaria Nautitech 40 Open offers very comfortable sailing - the hull lines are optimized for perfect trim and high comfort level in navigation,

Controlling a catamaran with your fingertips alone, feeling every gust of wind and the acceleration of the Nautitech 40 Open that is the joy of catamaran sailing. Aboard the Nautitech 40 Open you can experience all of this from both the port and the starboard helm stands on the hulls. Always having the course, the horizon and the sail in view without losing visual contact with the crew is one of the many great advantages of the
    Nautitech 40 Open.

The Nautitech 40 Open has been designed for people who love travelling on the sea. It doesn’t matter whether this is only for a dew days or an extended journey. The joy of lying at anchor in secluded coves, or sailing at speed from port to port – with the Nautitech 40 Open you can experience all of this without sacrificing comfort or luxury.

    Three cabins, or four?

The Nautitech 40 Open is built in a three or four cabin -cabin version, the 3-cabin owner’s layout have their own suite with bedroom, workspace, shower and bathroom, and of course plenty of storage space. The cabins have been upgraded with large double windows which provide superior natural lighting.

The luxurious fit and finish - LEDs, upholstered skirting and headrest- and the presence of useful storages are key elements of the cabin comfort,
