Description
The Westerly GK29 was designed and built as a fast and safe cruiser racer for the half ton class. Not only do they boast fine sailing performance, they look great, with the near flush decks, they have a surprising level of accommodation downstairs with six berths and six foot of headroom.
This one owner example was fitted with a new Yanmar 2GM20 engine in 2005, new standing rigging in 2021, new keel bolts in 2022, and is equipped with a Garmin GPS and a new Icom DSC VHF radio.
For anyone looking for a budget cruiser for some racing "around the cans" and comfortable family cruising, the Westerly GK29 merits some serious consideration.

Owner's Comments
I purchased Ragtime new from Westerly in May 1979. As a young family we spent our summer holidays on the boat in the Solent, West Country and Channel Islands. We raced her for a number of years in Cowes Week.
In 2007 she was transported to Port Grimaud in the bay of St Tropez, where we gently day sailed her during the summer, and then returned her to Poole in 2020. She has been only rarely sailed since then.
Since 2020 she has had a significant refit with the idea of handing her to the next generation of the family, but unfortunately that plan did not come to fruition. At 76 I feel she needs to go to someone who will benefit from a boat that is easy to handle and with an up to date refit, making her a very safe yacht.
